Auditions held at Immaculata University

Acceptance into the Chester County Youth Orchestra is by audition only. The Orchestra currently accepts talented musicians between the ages of 12 and 18.

Applicants should prepare the following for their audition:

Major Scales: Students will be asked to play 2 major scales:
- Please refer to our Scale Guidelines Document for information on required scales, octaves, rhythm/tempo, and articulation requirements!
Orchestral Excerpts: Please prepare the following excerpts for your instrument. Each instrument has two contrasting excerpts.

- - Percussionists– all percussionists should prepare an audition on Snare Drum (2 excerpts), and if possible, also on glockenspiel (scales & 1 excerpt)

An audition should last a total of approximately 10 minutes.
