- Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings and are usually held at the Lionville Middle School, 550 W. Uwchlan Ave., Exton, PA. Each rehearsal will begin PROMPTLY at 6:45PM and will conclude at 9:00PM. Be sure to arrive in plenty of time to set up, warm up, and tune up and be ready to play at 6:45.
- The quality of the orchestra depends on the members’
attendance at all rehearsals and concerts. By accepting a
position in the orchestra, you are making a commitment to attend
all rehearsals and concerts. The only acceptable excuses are
illness and unavoidable school conflicts.
You must notify Mr. Breton (610-524-0943 CCYO answering machine) if you cannot attend a rehearsal or concert. It is your responsibility to inform him of your absence and reason. Excessive absences are a detriment to the orchestra, and may result in your dismissal from the orchestra. - We use original parts in music folders. All members receive their own folder which will contain all the music for the current season. This folder with music must accompany each member to each rehearsal and concert. We do not keep extra copies of music and since we use original parts, the cost of replacing a lost folder with music is $75.00. All folders and music must be turned in at the end of the last concert of the season.
- In addition to regular rehearsals, please put dress rehearsals and concert dates on your calendar as soon as possible. We will advise you as early as possible of the schedule and of any changes. Please check the web site frequently: www.ccyo.org.
- Seating auditions will be conducted once each season for string players. Other sections will be auditioned for seating assignments as needed.
- All members must respect the facilities we use and be considerate of the people that will use the facility after us. Permission to return to these facilities in the future depends on our following this rule at all times. We must leave every area in as good or better condition than we found it. At Lionville Middle School absolutely no food or drink is allowed in the rehearsal rooms at any time. This includes water bottles. They can be left with cases in the cafetorium. Any food or beverages must be consumed at break time in the hallway outside the rehearsal rooms or not at all. Also, members are not allowed in the orchestra room except for sectionals when accompanied by one of the conductors or a section leader. In addition, the instruments in that room (string or keyboard) are not to be used by members without written permission from Mrs. Thorpe or Mrs. McCloskey, the orchestra and band directors at Lionville Middle School.
- CONCERT DRESS: Girls: Long or ¾ sleeved long black gown, or long black skirt or long black pants with a long or ¾ sleeved black top, black dress shoes, and black hose. No fringe, no glitter, no midriff showing please. Boys: Black tuxedo or suit, or black jacket and black dress pants, white dress shirt, black bow tie, black socks, black dress shoes.
